As an experienced Buffalo Endodontist, one of the most common questions people have is, when exactly they would need to see an endodontist. Endodontists see patients for all types of reasons. Some patients just need a straightforward root canal because they have a tooth that’s infected or one that’s causing them pain. Other times, we see patients who had a root canal in the past and something about it isn’t working. We might see a patient who cracks their tooth or loses a large filling. Every once in awhile, a dentist might be concerned about whether there’s enough healthy tooth remaining for them to save, so they’ll send a patient to us so that we can use our microscope to make an accurate determination of the best choice for that patient.
